Heritage Royalties Program: A Continuous Rewarding Journey

Program coming Soon!

The Heritage Royalties Program by NFTYourDocs introduces a groundbreaking approach to the sale and ownership of historical documents. This program is designed to provide continuous financial benefits to the original sellers of historical documents, ensuring they receive ongoing compensation for their stewardship of history.

A key provision of the Heritage Royalties Program is the requirement for future owners to keep the document in escrow with NFTYourDocs, ensuring the integrity of the historical document's provenance and the continuity of royalties to Seller A. This escrow service not only secures the document but also upholds the lineage of ownership and the perpetual income stream for the original seller.

Earn future Royalties after selling

Royalty breakdown percentages

Percentages earned per sale cycle are structured to benefit all parties involved: the original seller, as well as the first and second buyers, will earn 1% in perpetuity, ensuring ongoing rewards as long as the historical document remains within the HRP program. In the event that a new buyer opts to withdraw the historical document from the HRP program, an additional fee ranging from 25% to 40% will be imposed on the sale price. This extra fee will then be distributed in accordance with the predefined percentages of the last sale tier, further incentivizing the retention of documents within the program and ensuring all stakeholders benefit from the document’s continued participation.

OpenSea

Comparison of OpenSea and Ebay fees.

When comparing the fee structures of OpenSea and eBay, it's essential to understand the different contexts and services each platform offers. OpenSea is a leading marketplace for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), while eBay is a global e-commerce platform that caters to a wide variety of goods, from electronics to collectibles.

OpenSea Fee Structure:

  • OpenSea charges a flat 2.5% fee on the sale price of each NFT transaction. This fee is paid by the seller when an item is sold. There are no listing fees for placing an NFT on the market, and this 2.5% fee is relatively low compared to traditional art galleries and some other digital platforms. The fee goes towards maintaining the platform, customer support, blockchain operations, and ecosystem growth.

eBay Fee Structure:

  • eBay's fee structure is more complex and can vary significantly depending on the type of item being sold, the selling price, and whether the seller is using eBay's managed payments system or not. Generally, eBay charges a final value fee which is a percentage of the total amount of the sale, including the shipping cost set by the seller. This fee typically ranges from 10% to 12% for most categories, with a maximum cap on the fee for most categories. Additionally, eBay may charge insertion fees (listing fees) for sellers who exceed a certain number of free listings per month, as well as optional fees for enhanced listing features.

Comparison:

  • Fee Percentage: OpenSea's 2.5% fee is significantly lower than eBay's general final value fee range of 10% to 12%. This lower fee on OpenSea can be more attractive to sellers of high-value items, such as rare NFTs.
  • Fee Structure Complexity: OpenSea offers a simpler and more transparent fee structure focused solely on the sale transaction, while eBay's fees can vary by category, include additional charges for listing beyond free thresholds, and optional enhancement fees.
  • Services and Value: Both platforms justify their fees by the services they provide, including platform maintenance, customer support, and security. However, the nature of these services differs due to the different types of goods each platform specializes in – digital assets for OpenSea and a wide range of physical and digital goods for eBay.

The Journey of a Historical Document - A Tale of Multiple Owners

In this tale, we journey through the life of a precious historical document, witnessing its remarkable journey from one enthusiast to another, where not only the original seller but also subsequent buyers benefit from future sales.

The Initial Sale: A Modest Beginning

Our story begins with Seller A, a dedicated collector who, after years of preserving a rare historical document, decides to part with this treasure for $2,700. This historical document is more than just paper; it's a legacy.

The Chain of Fortunate Events: Rising Value

As time unfolds, this historical document finds its way to the First Buyer, who recognizes its growing worth and acquires it for $4,000. The wheel of fortune spins again, and soon, the Second Buyer steps in, seizing the opportunity to own this piece of history for an astounding $5,500.

A Paradigm Shift with NFTYourDocs

In the traditional world, Seller A's story would end with the first sale. But at NFTYourDocs, we believe in honoring the original custodian. Our Heritage Royalties Program empowers Seller A to earn a royalties on all subsequent sales of the historical document. As the historical document escalates in value and changes hands, Seller A continues to reap rewards for their initial preservation and sale.

The Sales Sequence: Appreciation and Cumulative Earnings

The journey of the historical document through various sales illustrates a unique and beneficial financial structure for all parties involved:

  • First Sale: When the Original Seller sells the document, they receive 95% of the total distribution. A small portion is allocated to OpenSea (2.5%) and NFTYourDocs (2.5%).
  • Second Sale: In this transaction, the First Buyer (now the owner) receives 90% of the sale proceeds. The Original Seller still benefits, receiving 6.5% of the transaction. OpenSea gets 2.5%, and NFTYourDocs receives 1%.
  • Third Sale: The Second Buyer, as the current owner, earns 90% of the sale value. The Original Seller and First Buyer receive smaller royalties of 3.5% and 3% respectively. OpenSea and      NFTYourDocs take their usual fees of 2.5% and 1%.
  • Fourth Sale: The financial distribution shifts slightly. The Third Buyer gets 90% of the sale price. The Original Seller's royalty decreases to 2%, while the First and Second Buyers receive 1.5% and 3.0%, respectively. OpenSea and NFTYourDocs continue to take 2.5% and 1%.
  • Fifth Sale: This sale mirrors the fourth sale's distribution pattern, with the Fourth Buyer taking 90%, and smaller percentages allotted to the Original Seller, First, Second, and Third Buyers. OpenSea and NFTYourDocs receive their fees.
  • Sixth Sale: The pattern continues similarly to the fifth sale, with the Fifth Buyer receiving the major share of 90%. The Original Seller, and the First through Fourth Buyers, receive diminishing royalties. OpenSea and NFTYourDocs maintain their fee structure.
  • Seventh Sale: A notable change occurs in the seventh sale. The Sixth Buyer receives 90% of the transaction. However, the Third Buyer does not receive any royalty in this sale. The Original Seller, First, and Second Buyers, along with OpenSea and NFTYourDocs, receive their respective portions as before.

Heritage Royalties Program and Removal Fee Disclaimer:

In order for these royalties to continue being paid on subsequent sales, the new buyer must agree to remain in the Heritage Royalties Program. If a buyer chooses to purchase the Historical Document and opts out of the program, a removal fee of 25% is applicable. This fee will be distributed according to the percentages outlined for each respective sale. For instance, if the transaction is the fourth sale, the distribution of the 25% removal fee, in addition to the regular 10%, will be allocated as described in the fourth sale row. This ensures that all stakeholders in the Heritage Royalties Program are fairly compensated, even if the historical document exits the program.
